longer shocks
i am looking to raise the rear of my future-soon- 2013 superglide custom. what are the stock length shocks? will 06 sportster shocks fit, my YSS fully adjustable 13.25" are oversprung and prolly suit the xtra 100 lbs of the superglide. thanks in advance as i am trying to learn what i need to personalize my future ride. brakes and suspension upgrades for sure!!!

My '03 WG had 11" shocks lowering it about 1 1/2" from the stock length shock (12 1/2"). When they got soft I replaced them with some Progressive 430's that were 12 1/2". They made a huge diff in cornering and riding the twisties. I've got boards on it, and now I never scrape in the turns. With the 11"ers I was constantly scraping even when I was just going through curves at a very slow speed.
If you can, just try going with some stock length shocks before going to anything longer. The difference might really surprise you and could make the transition easier and cheaper.

13.25 will work great, especially if you want better cornering. You may have to have a suspension shop replace the springs with stronger units unless you can adequately tighten up the preload on yours.
The Ohlins 159 series work very well on the Dyna and theyre not super expensive.

The Progressives are an inexpensive improvement over the stock units, though.
