Default tire calculations...

Im one thats kinda hard on a tire. getting ready to order my 4th rear tire in 15k miles so i always shop. so far i have stuk with the 160/70 dunlop just becuse nobody at the time had a better deal and i tried a 55 searies tire (2ed tire) loked gooffy to me. bymy calculations 160/70 is 112mm tall the 180/60(wide tire kit)is108mms the 170/60 102mm 180/55 99mm. the 180/55and the 170/60 areavailableby a lot of manufactures, and there are some good deals. im thinking of trying the 170/60 metzler me880.the one thing i cant stand is when the curve of the tire dosent match the curve of the fender.what do yall think??

I think what you said is probably correct.

What was the question?

If you put a low profile tire on a rim that is to narrow you will change the contact patch that the tire was designed to put down.

I run a 170/60 Avon. Nice tire.
I think it's a bit of a softer compound though.

It's interesting, a mate's 07lowrider is just about worn out the center of the factory tire..... I've got roughly the same amout of k's and I'm getting better wear right across the tyre, I keep telling him he needs to start wearing the edges out too....lol...
