This should probably be in the general forum but anyway, has anyone triedt he light adjusting glasses? If so what brand? These things arent cheap so I dont want to waster money and dont know anyone that has them

 

I tried a pair, but they never got as dark as my regular shades, so I sent them back.

 

I wear Panoptix. They're not transitions but I love them. Here's a link for a great price.

I wear Panoptix prescription with transition lens. They do not get as dark as sunglasses but, I like them a lot.

 

I have Wiley X XL-1 with prescription.
matte finish has removable foam for riding the motorcycle. Recommend.
The gloss frames have foam permanently attached.
They are very dark.
I will get a second set with clear lense for night time.
Highly Recommend.

All I keep hearing is that they cost alot and if it's really sunny out, people always go back to an ol'cheap pair they have since they don't go dark enough...

I'm not getting them after reading reviews on them...

 

I wear the Panoptix. I bought them through my Harley dealer and they turned out great. I bought the transition and prescription with bifocals. they seem to get plenty dark and the prescription is perfect. these are not cheap,but worth it.

 

Same here. The lenses are interchangable. They pop out and you can put a different set in. I carry a set of dark lenses & clear lenses.

 

Shades are cool, but you guys should be wearing goggles. I know- I know, it's like a helmet, personal choice, but goggle afford more protection and you can wear any old shades for hanging arounf when you are not riding but on the road, especially at speed, dust, airborne particles or a stray stone form someone's tire are hazards. The shades with the foam work, just not as good as goggles and then on hot days, once you are off the bike, who wants to sit aroundand deal with the sweat of foam glasses.

With that said, transition lenses have come a long way, especially in the area of impact resistant. Carrying two pairs, one dark and one clear, seems to be a betterbet. Again, my 2 cents.

 

I got the Wiley-x ones, but they really need to get a shade darker in the bright sun. Still wear em and still like them, nice not to have to worry about riding back in the dark.
