well ive had this problem with the fuel pump prime noise being very scracthy and loud especially when sitting after a ride
if i turn the bike on and ride it and when i turn it off and turn it back on the prime noise is normal...but if i keep going on and off and on off i can get the noise to come back on sometimes(depends how long ride i did)




Example: i ride to work, end of day the pump will sound like this


hell i think it even does it after sitting for 15min i'll have to time it next time


doesnt matter what level of fuel is


it runs fine just i have some rides im doing this weekend and wont be able to bring it in to harley till monday maybe sunday


i posted this problem but alot of ppl said theres does the same thing or its normal but i highly doubt this noise is normal

 

im going to call harley tomorrow and email this video to one of the service writers


that way he can show the techs , its a 2013 so its under warranty after hearing this he should tell me to bring it in because all my other friends harleys which are older there prime noise is a high pitch whine like its suppose to do.

 

Sounds like a faulty bearing inside the pump.

 

My buddies 07 never did that, but then I pulled it all out of the tank, replaced the lines and filters, put it back, now it makes that same noise but works perfectly. His only does it about half the time, other times it is silent. I guess maybe there is some vibration against something happening? Maybe something vibrating against the cup for the fuel gauge?
