Dynas with ABS

Off topic: my dog chewed through the ABS wire at the front wheel last week. At $100 a pop and 2 hours work to change I hope he doesn't get a taste for ABS.

Its standard on all new Harleys here in the UK too.
I've ridden two Harleys with ABS and wasn't greatly impressed. I've had a couple of other bikes with ABS (a Yamaha and a BMW) and both had noticeably better braking for having ABS, whereas the Harleys seemed no different from non-ABS. I even tried to get the ABS to kick-in by braking on some gravel and the wheels just locked up every time I tried.
Basically, Harley brakes tend to be pathetic anyway and adding a cheapo ABS doesn't seem to make a lot of difference.

I hate that you can't get security without ABS. Brake operation aside (which has admittedly saved my butt at least once), your options for modifications are very limited because of the placement of the control unit.
Take a look at my post on the trouble I've had with passenger footpegs, exhaust mods, and shocks because of ABS: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/11076150-post2.html
