Default Matching Tires

So I need to get some new tires and was planning on going with Michelin Commander II, but it looks like they dont offer the 180/60-17 size of my stock tire. They offer a 200, and I read the debate on whether or not this tire will work, but bottom line is I dont want to take the risk.

I have been looking at other brands, but it doesnt seem that I can find one brand that offers both my front tire size and rear tire size. Front is 80/90-21.

Also, since I am a noob on buying tires for a cruiser, I dont understand why a lot of the manufactures dont list specifics for the front tire whether its bias or radial, but almost all the rear tires are bias?

Anyone have suggestions on buying matching front and rear tires for my particular size?

Thanks for your input!

Hi,
90/90-21 Avon venomX on front, at about 15000kms so far, looking good still hope to get another 6-7000 Kim's out of it

Dunlop gt502 on back, get about 14000kms out of it, I watch pressure on them, I cruise on the freeways country roads

Thanks

Hello WideGlideFever,

Their are very few options for a 180/60-17 tire on a Dyna's stock 4.5"x17" rim. Their is your original Michelin Scorcher 31, Dunlop SE GT502, and Pirelli Night Dragon. All have matching front tires. The Night Dragon can be purchased on-line from most retailers. The Scorcher 31 and the SE GT502 I believe are Harley's exclusively and can only purchased through a dealer. But I could be wrong on that point.

Their are more option if you go with the smaller 160/70-17 tire for the Dyna's 4.5"x17' rim. Listed below are the ones I know of that have matching front and rear tires.

Metzler 880
Pirelli Night Dragon
Michelin Commander II
Dunlop K591
Shinko 777
Avon Storm 2 Ultra Rear & Venom Front (Recommended pairing by Avon)

Thanks for the reply, good info. I was leaning towards Shinko 777, but wasnt sure about going down to 160 on the rear. I will probably end up going that route.
