Thumbs up FXDWG+TW-222=FUN (review)

I just got back from getting woods tw-222 installed in my wideglide. All I can say is wow from the minute I started it for the first time I knew this was going to be way better than I had even imagined lol. The idle is great lope is very nice and sounds much more true potato potato compared to before. The engine does liek to jump around a bit more. No more extra noise from the engine which is awesome just a little more bark on the exhaust. Ok on to the good stuff. In first gear from stand still its crazy torque I actually did not have the guts to hammer it from a standstill yet cause I am not sure what will happen launch or spin? Pulls really hard thru the full rpm range with a lot of happyness (tq/hp) in the mid range. Every gear seems to be able to pull a bit more mph's out and does not seem to die out as fast as it did with the stock cam. I love how I can actually use 6th gear I was crusing at 60mph in 6th gear and it was much better than stock more usable power did not have to downshift and just felt smoother. I have not tuned it yet I had it dyno tuned with my stage one and the sepst. My indy who installed it said it runs great and would not wory to much about riding before the tune and he was right does not even feel like a tune is needed but obviously that will be done very soon hopefully the next few days or so. As far as mods go I have the rsd air cleaner, v&h br 2-2 exhaust, sepst (tuner), and now the woods tw-222 with screaming eagle adjustable push rods. I will post up my dyno sheet when I get it done. I am guessing it will be in the neighborhood of 88-92hp and 98-102tq just roughly guessing from other dyno sheets. With 2into1 exhaust from fuelmoto's site they were seeing 94hp 105tq but I am thinking because of my exhaust I will be lower. Correct me if my figure seem out to lunch just a guess for fun at this point. For anyone looking for some nice mid range torque and to wake up the 96 this was a great improvement. Butt dyno says this was a more noticable difference than stock to stage one. Sorry I am a bit giddy right now. Thanks for reading

Congrats! I've heard good things about the 222. If it came out before I got my 555, should have gone that route.

Thanks for the review. From all I've read about the 222, it sounds like the ideal drop-in cam for a stock 96.

96 I was looking at the curves between the 103 and 96 on fuel motos site they have some dyno sheets and they look very similar with the 103 having slightly more hp and tq.

Yup probably my next mod to the performance dept. May not be till next summer tho. Gotta get my tune and I have been eyeing a new Speedo with tach.
