Default Xenon bulb in headlamp

No, I'm not talking about Xena's headlights that's a different forum.

Has anyone installed a blue Xenon bulb in a FXDWG? I have an 03 and was curious about the current draw, heat, night driving etc. They advertise it as being twice as bright as a stock bulb. Harley’s bright bulb is only about 10% brighter according to the HD accessory book. Thanks, BB

I put the latest Harley bulb in my 02 wideglide and the difference is spectacular, I can see really good at night now. They claim it is 70% brighter than the old one, I don't know the percentage but it IS alot brighter and you can see out to the sides a bunch better too.---jack

I have no info on this subject but I am interested in a brighter bulb also. I'll be keeping an eye on this post for any updates.

I installed an actual HID conversion in my bob. I placed the the ballast and ignightor between the frame and tank thanks to the space made from my tank lift. The light output is incredible. No heat issues, and the current draw is less than a stock bulb.

I stand partially corrected, my bulb went out and when I went to the shop they told me the new housing (non fluted) and bulb were the hot ticket so I tried it and like it a lot. The newerbikes have the non fluted lenses but I'm not sure about the bulbs. It was something like 68.00 for the glass housing and bulb. I have heard the the sylvania silverstar is even better but if mine was any brighter I would get flashed too often, I already get flashed semi-regularly as it is now. Sorry I can't be more specific but I just put it in and went.---jack

Is the Sylvania silverstar H4st a plug & play or do you need to add an igniter? BB
