The fad is the sea of Street Glides you see in any parking lot of a motorcycle event. If you do find a Dyna, it is usually not blacked out.

A blacked out bike is sexy and has caught on quite a bit. It is not a "fad"...blacked out cars and bikes have been around a while and will never go away.

 

in the 80s it was chrome or brass and custom paint , in the 90s it was softails monocolor paint and billet and chrome , 2000 was all about high end choppers you could not ride 100 miles with out seeing chiropractor and over the top paint , 2010 its rat rod style black everthing out and then sometimes do wheels in red or some other color like 50s hotrods and heat wrap exhaust , figure 2020 will be more 60s style molded frames long springers . but what do i know, i just do what i want

 

Black is faster and with chrome its even faster.

Because black is more easily seen by cagers. I have personally done a study on this.

My wife has an 11 WG that is Chrome Yellow with black flames, and a few chrome accents. When we have been riding together she has almost been hit several times. Does not matter if I am leading or she is.
The possible exception to this is in Cali...lol
