Question Just had my 15k service done and

now the clutch lever doesn't pull all the way back like it used to?

I am assuming they did some adjustments to it, as the clutch operates properly.

But it's just not how it was when I took it in.

Is this normal?

If the leve doesn't pull all the way back then bring it back in...they may have adjusted the clutch right but not the cable

Yes it is normal for the feel of the lever to change with a clutch adjustment.

Is there any freeplay in the lever? There should be and that is the single most important part of the adjustment process that you can check for without going inside the cover.

Are you surprised? They did make sure to collect all your money correctly, right?

Not hard to adjust it the way you like it.
15K myself and just did my own service.
I adjust my clutch every time I change my primary oil which is three times a year.
i also lubed the cable and never- seezed the pin in the control.
Spring, mid summer and fall. all fluids get changed.
i adjust the cable to within 1/16 free play for that quick grab feel.

No there is not much free play at all (if I think I know what you are talking about)...

I think I'll ride up to the dealer here shortly if its not gonna rain any more...

Go out and turn your bars straight. Grab the cable and pull it away from the lever. You should be able to fit about a dime in the gap between the ferrel of the cable and the perch. If not, adjust it until you do. If they adjusted the clutch itself, you have to pull the cover and follow the procedure. I would try this first...

It sounds more like they have left the adjuster screw too close to the clutch basket and forgot to back it off 1/4 to 1/2 turns.

sounds like a bad clutch adjustment, you can just adjust it again yourself if you do not want to bring it back in... get a 2x4 and slide that under the kick stand so that they bike is more level and does not drain primary fluid... from here follow your cutch cable down and you will see the rubber cover over the cable adjuster, loosen this all the way so your lever is slack... now remove the 5 torques bolts on the derby cover. once you are inside there, break loose the jam nut on the clutch adjustment in the middle of the basket... once that is loose, back out the adjustment nut and slowly go in till you feel resistance (just a bit) then back out 1/4-1/2 turn, tighten down the jam nut... and re install the derby cover (dont have Tq specs on me)... now go back to your cable adjustment... you want to adjust that so that there is about as much free play at the lever to fit a dime between the lever and the perch... tighten the cable adjustment jam nut, and slide back over the rubber sleve... all done!

Thanks for the help!

I'll go look at it and see what I want to do about it...
