Default Drive gearing and added power?

Bike is an 2012 WG with the 103 motor, after rebuild I should have at least a 100hp/tq and an thinking of adding the Darkhoorse sprocket compensator.
Then would be a good time to change the gearing if I need to.

I'd rather change drive gear ratio's than belt pulleys for ease of belt replacement if lenghts are different, which I thnk they would be. ?

Anyway, with a 275 rider and added motor power I'm wondering if I should wait and see or while the motor is down go ahead and change to a deeper gearing now.

Question I guess is, did anybody find the needed/wanted deeper gears after they did engine improvements?

Wait and see would probably be best, but just thinking ahead, and it's slow at work.

When you have that much power that front wheel gets pretty light.

I added deeper gears to mine (much older bike- 2003) after I rebuilt mine the 2nd time, because I am running "large by ridiculous" cams, and "horrible for bottom end, but they look cool" pipes on mine (and weigh 300lbs), and it really doesn't start pulling until 3000rpm. Depending on the components used :meaning if you are running a square lobed cam with not enough compression- lower the ratio. Otherwise, you ought to be fine with stock gearing.

Ya, the logical thing to wait, but I thought as long as I was thinking of driving out and getting the heads at Revolution, Darkhorse was just up the road a bit and I'd pick it up then.

Running the stage 2 heads with the 590 Tman cams fwiw

In my FXDC I have the 103 with 255cams and 30 tooth pulley. No belt change. She pulls really hard and I'm sure you would love it.

Add a couple of PM's suggesting I wait as the added power will make a different bike, and what was said here, I'll wait.

Trying to get all motor work done before summer as our summers are short enough as it is.

But no sense doing something I'd regret later.

Thanks all.
