nitrous....sweet....did some wet systems back in the day on Indy 650s, way more tempermental than these newer dry systems, but a lot more bang too!
sled investments are bad enough, but when you have to drive 6-8 hours each way just to use them, sure does add up fast when truck fuel is $2.50-3.00 per gallon and hotels cost you at least $35 per night [when you go on the cheap]. Factor in 8-9 mpg on a hopped up sled at $3-4 per gallon and it sure adds up fast. Not to mention food and such....no longer a 'blue collar' sport that's for sure!
definitely nothing quite like it though, sure do miss the mountians, but love the fact I can ride the HOG straight from the garage!!!!!

This is my 06 Yamaha Attak along with my father's (his is the blue one) they both have Hauck racing exhaust as well as work to the intakes. YOu should hear it when its tacking 11g's across a lake! The pipes arevery loud and the sled sounds just like a piped Yamaha R1 street bike (the engines are almost the same).HP is probably in the mid 150s and last weekend riding i saw 131 on the speedo going down a long stretch of lake, i was probaly dong more like 122-125 actual, but still. My dealer here in Maine has a turboed Yamaha with over 300 hp, he races, its done high 160's in the quarter (on asphalt) last summer..I ride the sleds more than the bike, a typical year for me is 5-6000 miles.

I used to ride alot, with the lack of snow for the past few years I'm glad mine are older and paid for. Otherwise I'ld sell them both. Last year I think I spent $2 for every mile I put on,andI only put $300 into them.
This year I started them both, drove them onto the trailer and waited for the snow that never came.

bobbin,I love the next gen Yam's...I could say with 100% certainy that i could never own another 2-stroke again (no-offense meant) The two sleds in the pic i posted are my 5th set of the 4 stroke Yamaha's after leaving over 8 years on Ski-Doo...I trade every year and i get to try almost everything, and these are by far my favorite...
