Default Kick Stand (Will It or Won't It)

Every since I've had my 06 SG I've always been a little concerned about my kickstand. It always appears to not to want to hold the bike up. I've thought about grinding the stop in order for the kickstand to at least move forward just a bit more. I like knowing my bike is not going to fall over when I'm not around, but the placement of the kickstand is just a little iffy to me. Anyone else have this problem with their Dynas?

I was also leary of the "jiffy stand". Especially when the bike is pointed even the slightest bit downhill. But, after talking with several folks on here and a little expeimenting while sitting on the bike (and a buddy ready to help me catch her if she fell), it seems like it works as advertised.

If the design is similar to the jiffy on my 98 Wide Glide, as long as the stand is all the way forward when it is weighted by your bike, it won't be able to fold back up.

Jack up the bike and really take a look at how it works. There should be a stop that won't allow it to fold up until it is unweighted.

like mtnlvr said, even if the bike rolls forward the stand will not be pushed back once the weight is on it...try it
Put it on the stand and push the bike forward. There's a tab there that prevents the stand from being able to move back.
It looks like it should go more forward but that's how hd's stands have always been
So in short, "it will"

I can put the entire weight of mine on the stand and turn it around on it in it's tracks.

Cannot fall over with the locking feature.

IMO the best jiffy stand of any manufacturer out there.

Hell I think the Jiffy is one thing the MoCo got right. They work good.

What he said.........get a crash bar......especially if you have kids who play in the garage where your bike is parked when you are at work.
