When I did my baker IPB upgrade I had a local shop just weld those bolts in place and I havent had a problem with it since. It was $30.00 to have them weld it. Probably the cheapest way to go IMO.
If you're the one paying for this, consider a CompuFire 3 Phase charging system. After 3 stator failures on my '00 Road Glide by the time it hit 57,000 miles, I switched to the aftermarket and haven't looked back. That was 4 years ago come this fall and the bike has 130,000 miles on it now.
I used red loc-tite on mine a few months ago when I put in a Baker IPB. Anyone have any experience with that working ok? I asked a local shop and they said thats all they do to fix them and they haven't had any issues.
Just ordered the Baker IPB. Still researching the rotor and the stator. I think I am going to upgrade to the 07 parts which are a 40 amp instead of the 38 amp
