Default Need a measurement !

I recently ordered a new street bob , It won,t be in untill early summer. I,m just wondering about winter storage for next year, I have a large basement and lots of room to store it there but I don,t know if it will fit through my door. My dealer is 1 hr. drive from my home so i,m wondering if any street bob owner out there could measure the width of the handle bars from tip totip to see if I can get it through my door. My door is 36 in. wide.

what about the weight? That's a 600 lb. bike DRY!

Hope your stairs can handle it! And..you will need about 4 people to control it's "fall" down the stairs

IMHO...a really BAD idea![]

I've been through a 28 inch door with mine. It's like working a jigsaw puzzle, but can be done.

The tips of the clutch and brake levers are 36 and 3/4" apart. Like Psycho says, if you manuever the handlebars just right, you can get it through a 28" door. It just takes a little patience.

I would pay money to watch somebody try and bring a bike down some crappy old basement stairs. That would be hilarious, as long as it isn't my bike.

One thing ya'll need to keep in mind is that many basements in steeper terrain and in many different parts of the country, are open sided. Not all are accessed only by stairs.

Thanks for the measurement. If the bikecan fit through the door I,ll have no problem going down the stairs, they,re new, strong and wide. All you have to do is put two nylon straps on the bike and lower it down with rope and pully.I have movedbig old cast iron furnaces in and out of basements many times before .

The trick to basement stairs is use the front brake. If you were to use the rear brake it'll go down nice and easy.
