Cool Roll bag on top of light-limited space....

I am thinking (or not) of buying a Roll bag to put on top of my light on my 98 Dyna FXD, but my odometer would be preventing me from having the roll bag to be resting flatly against my handlebars, and would be resting against my gauge.... should I do it this way or forget about it and get a luggage rack?

any advice is appreciated!

I would go the luggage rack route, as I have done. Most any rollbag you put against a hard surface, chrome or paint, is going to scratch the finish. Plus my headlight seems to get pretty hot after its been on for a while.

Years ago, before I had a good enough job to afford a windshield I kept a bag on the light all the time. I still think it works better than most of the crappy windshield that are available.

I used to run a roll bag all the time on my headlight of my fatboy. No scratches and it never caught on fire. Plus it works as a small windshield. Be aware, roll bags are only for the bold.
