Default 14" apes

I have a 2012 wide glide. I just purchased a set of 14" carlini evil apes. Just wondering if anyone has some input on what length cables I need. I will be using a 1" riser. Any helpful insit will be appreciated as I will be doing the install myself. Harley wanted to much at a cost of about 1100.

Not sure on length of cables but I just put 14" Carlini Flying apes on my FXDC and ordered Magnum Cables from their site they also have some good info for measuring them.

best way I have found is to unbolt the clamps . lay stock hb assembly on a cloth on tank , bolt up new bars and measure for cable length. you can then always bolt your stock bars back on and ride while u wait a few days for exact length cables you need

I ordered the 14" kit from Burly for my apes and they worked fine.

I have 14" Pist Apes and like the Chief, I used the 14" Burly cable kit.

Your stock wiring will work, no need to replace that. I also suggest going with polyeurethane riser bushing when you do the swap. The stock rubber bushing allow alot of "play" in the Apes. You can get bushings from Harley for 50 bucks or from someplace like eastern performance for 10.95

I just changed my bars and faced the same dilemma, I finally decided to order the bars and risers, i installed the new setup with controls adjusted with the look and feel I wanted, then measured cables, to give you a sense, for my setup (Burly 12' with 1.5" Biltwell risers, the bars are in straight line with forks) I ended up +4" on clutch and throttle/ idle setup, and stock on brake line, since I kept my cable connected at the bottom, it was easy to accurately measure length and I can tell you the ended up fitting perfectly.

I ended up with magnum and I am very happy with results

Good luck
