Ok, I finally have my bike back. The shop replaced the parts they damaged.

That was the good news.

On the way to the shop, they told me that a piece came off of my bike during the test ride. I get there to see that the strip that is attached around my battery box cover is gone.

I had the piece powder coated wrinkle black and the letters "wide glide" painted red. Now, it is no where to be found.

The shop is researching how they are going to replace it. A pain in my ***.

If anyone has a wide glide scripted battery box band laying around..please let me know.

Dude, you just can't win for losing can you? At least that's something that won't keep you from riding.

You are right...the bike is beating me down!!

They ask me yesterday if I would like to leave the bike with them until fixed? Hell no, I would not! Lol

I took her home. I am riding her to work today.

After all that, I wouldn't leave it either! Regardless, glad you got it back and are on the road again.

Like the wheels a lot.

Did you use a good trim tape when you put the trim piece on? I always use 3M stuff.

I was not aware that the battery box band was only held on by 3M tape. I had it powder coated as one piece and I am sure the heat from the powder coating dried the tape out.

When I get the new battery box band, I am going to bolt it into the battery box.

Sounds like that is exactly what happened. Can't really blame the dealer onthat one.
