Wiring aftermarket turn signals
I'm currently stationed in Korea and I'm new to the forum. I will have a new 2013 super glide custom when I get back to the the states, my wife already bought me the turn signals I have been looking at but I'm not sure what type or connections harley uses. I want to be able to wire my turn signals to factory specs they are a two wire set up if anyone can help with any info on the connector types and when I can purchase them would be great. Also I'm trying to find a tail light delete kit that will keep the factory fender and cover up the gaping hole left behind.
Thanks in advance!
I added a photo of one of the turn signals what do y'all think.

Most FXD models up to '12 use these 2 position AMP connectors for the rear turn signals:
receptacle housing 2-position, p/n 73152-96BK
metal end piece:
receptacle, contact, 20-16 GA. p/n 73191-96
Go here for some more info on these connectors by forum member mud:

I'm assuming these are for the rear? I just finished wiring up some new turn signals. Those connectors FXD has shared are the correct ones for at least the '12 below bikes. They are also hard to work with if you've never used them before and don't have the right tool for the job. Couple of techniques involved crimping the terminals onto the wires properly so they fit into the very tiny space in the plastic terminal housing.
What I would suggest when you get to the bike:
1) Remove the two screws holding your tail light on.
2) Unplug the tail light connector from the circuit board behind it and remove the tail light for now.
3) There should now be two small plugs/terminal housings as pictured by FXD above having a black and a purple wire w/ brown strip. You can remove these terminal housings as a whole using a small screwdriver to depress the latch holding them in the circuit board (hard to see the little 'button' but you need to press it down to get the plug out).
4) Unbolt each turn signal and fish the wiring out from under the fender and through the strut.
5) Go get some new wiring, preferably same gauge and color (black and purple w/ brown stripe), cut the wiring off the stock turn signals about 6" back from the plug. .and splice it onto the signals you bought, trying to keep the length the same etc.
The ones you bought don't look like they'll mount up at the stock location so you'll probably have to run even longer wire and figure out how to protect it from the tire etc. .if they're single filament they should work fine.
Honestly since it's a new bike I wouldn't mess with any of this for at least a few months until I figure out a nice way to mount and run everything. When I brought mine home from the dealership I just 'had' to install a new tail light first thing. .scratched up my new fender and the tail light fell off (Tri-Bar LED. .not my fault on that one). Not even sure if aftermarket signals will work with a CAN-BUS/HDLAN bike like yours.
