I've had an FXR and I wished I'd never sold it. That being said I have my low rider setup just the way I want it and it's fast and handles. I like the twin cam and love the fuel injection. My FXR had a 21" front wheel and I like my 19" better. My dyna is way faster, but then i've done alot of engine work, suspension and brakes. You can make dynas handle great. But I miss my FXR

my chick rides an 84 fxr mostly stock and it pisses me off everytime she smokes my switchback. everytime i ride it i hate my switchback a little more
she got it for 4200 dollars sold 800 dollars worth of crap that came with it
haven't had to fix anything that has cost more than 75 bux
best harley I have ever ridden and I have ridden quite a few
also have 05 bagger loaded with crap
fxr is best machine in the stable even though it very old with a million miles on it
didn't stop us from doing 1200 mile trip problem free.
fxr is awesome ditch the dyna you will never regret it
we are only a couple years away from it going up in value everyday like a knucklehead does

bobber33, my experience is very limited with the FXR, especially because I've only been on them twice now. It had very minimal suspension work and when I was riding it felt MUCH more nimble than my bob. I do a ton of canyon riding, I go on long hauls occassionally but not as often as I hit the twisties in my area. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dyna I just feel that the FXR is more suited for my style of riding.

yep morro bay
did all of pch to frisco then hiway 35 to santa cruz then holister to coalinga then all of the petroleum hiway 33
stopped at a place outside of taft where everything looked abandoned and found this place where harleys are a big deal to them
they covered the whole bar in pennies
cheaper than tile and it looked great great food too
might be because we were starving and it was the first place we had seen in hours

I've had both. I'll take the fxr all the way. Just be aware the bikes are getting old & I had to roll up my sleeves & get to work on all my older bikes. I 1st had a 98 Dyna wide glide & my buddy had a super glide. The super glide was the better performaning bike & my bike looked better, imo, so I upgraded to keep up in the mountains with him. Bought an 84 with an 89 drive train as my 1st FXR, wore slap *** out. Got it going good enough for the wife to learn to ride on. 1st time I rode it, I was like hey, I'm on to something here! She keep falling down on it, so I traded it for a hot rod sporty that I had owned once before. Traded a couple times more & finally got my hands on another 1 from IL. Needed alot of work, long story. It's what I ride today & as long as I can talk some 1 to machine rebuild parts for me it's what I'll ride from now on. Sorry for long post, but that's my personal experience with both & I'm very biased towards the fxr.
