Default Scored on some stock pipes

(Scored on some stock pipes) That in itself is kinda a wierd statement around here ! I like the Big Radius 2-1 but the rear heat shield bracket busted. I fixed it up to work the rest of the season but might be time for something different. I could also machine a new bracket this winter if needed.

And earlier this year I gave my stock pipes away to a friend.

On craigs list a guy had a new set of pipes off a 2009 Fatbob. Only 7 miles on them and for $50.00 ! After procrastinating for weeks I called him and he still had them. So I grabbed them.

I've been kinda wanting to try stock pipes again to see what it does for the torque. SE255 cams are installed. I figured I'd take the catalytic converter out and start there. I guess I got lucky these pipes had no converter ! From what I've read 2008/2009 some did'nt have converters in the header pipe. Awesome !

I went for a couple short rides. It was really nice how quiet the bike was. I could learn to like this. Right off torque seemed about the same as the 2-1. Have to wait till next year to really play with this setup and check the tune.

I think I can like the look. Maybe paint the header pipe red and heat shields and mufflers black.

But I really liked the stock tone and how quiet it was. I must be getting old

LOL I remember when I first switched from the stockers to the set of Pythons I am running now... I must've griped for 2 weeks about the noise..

(my ol' lady said she loved 'em and the sound that they (the Pythons) made and said I sounded like the crotchety neighbor who yells at the kids on his lawn while shaking his fist at them..)

Gotten used to 'em now sorta..

Harley Davidsons.. turning gasoline into noise/power/smiles for 110+ years

The RK I got last month has V&H slipons. Fisrt thing I did was install the baffle cones to take some of the blab. Still too loud for me.

Same basic story with my FXDB. Plus, according to my pc3 tuning numbers, they aren't the best for flow either. On the threshold of too loud...

I put some Krome Works slip ons on my2012 FXDB stock pipes and it sounds good, a little quiet yet, I may leave it, I had a loud scoot for 30 years.
I was getting ready to drop $$ on 2 into 1, but I don't think I want the loud.
