Thumbs down Security issue

My bike doesn't recognize my security key fob. I was at by brothers for Thankgiving and had to use the code to start my bike. Got home and tried the backup fob. Still no luck. The security system has been nothing be a pain since I got the bike (new) in 2009. How can I disable the system forever?

Your owners manual should have the answer

Default What Do You Ride?

What kind of bike are you riding? I have an OE (non security) turn signal module from my 09 Road King. You could have it for the cost of mailing it! Let me know! PM me if you want.

Just realized this is the Dyna section. Check out the turn signal module part numbers to see if they are the same.

It's a 2009 Super Glide. Is it as simple as replacing the turn signal module?

If fob batt is a year or older possible voltage is not sufficient to transmit signal. Might be worth a try to change the batt and see if that helps.

The turn signal module IS the security sysem. If you also have the smart siren, that is a separate plug and play module also. You would need to remove the security turn signal unit and plug back in a regular turn signal module. I just checked and the turn signal modules (security) are different for yours and my bikes. It should be that EZ!

New batteries solved the starting problem but I still want to remove the H-DSSS. The Electrical Diagnostic Manual talks about the use and programming of the system. I'll look in my Repair Manual to see if it shows how to remove the damn thing. The Electrical manual mentions a Digital Technician II (PN HD-48650) to program the FOB. Hope I don't need it to remove the SSS. Any suggestion?
