Default Forward Controls, a different way?

I've never seen this manner of adding forward controls. My Dyna is my first big twin and I'm continually learning new things, but I've never seen forward controls setup this way.

I just put forward controls on my Dyna yesterday, as easy as it was to install, this setup looks like it might be easier. Has this style been around a while and I just missed it?

The brake side looks like standard Harley forward control setup.

I have never seen that on a Harley before, but I thought that the shift side should have been like the brake side with the linkage below. To clean up the shift side, I was thinking of flipping the front lever and the trans shift lever (like on the Victory's) but having the shift rod more inboard along the frame.

I get it for being easier to install on a bike with mids but I have to agree that it doesn't look to great that way.

I may be wrong but if the owner leans just a little bit too much into a left hand corner (either by design or by mistake) they could change down mighty quickly!

Damn good point actually...I scrape the cases a bit and recon that if I had the shift rid there it woul hit the ground. Guess its only for the freeway cruiser clan...

I'm thinking the same as well.
