I've got the 412's on mine now (need to update my pics), I'd go with the 440's if could do it again. A little to stuff for me, but I'm 6'3 and around 240ish.

I've got the 412 HD's and love them. Also think they are the best looking aftermarket shock out there by far!

Interesting story, I bought a set 11" progressives for the same reason (but don't tell the wife I said that) - then decided to chop the back end off - definitely better handling then the stock HD shocks and they didn't bottom out - but they made it a stiff ride.

The Hagon Nitros are a great set of shocks, and are fully adjustable - just a bit too shines for me

Don't get 412s. Waste of money. Very much an entry-level shock, only useful for a non-upgrade replacement of faulty stock shocks.

If you can get some Hagons, do it. Better shock in every way than Progressives and if you call them then they will hand-build you a set to your weight/style for no extra charge.

I've had them on nearly every bike I've had going back 30 years. I don't have them on the Fat Bob yet but they are on my xmas list.

You can get all-black for the cheaper ones, either black springs etc or with full black shrouds. However, you really want the Nitros; they are the ones up there with Works and Ohlins. They are, I think, available only with stainless coils but you can have anodised black fittings on them.
