On my '97 Wide Glide, I went with a 180 on the back and had to make the following modifications:
1) Widen fender horns
2) Wider fender, Softail
3) Narrower belt = 3/4"
4) Pulley - reused one I had with the 1 1/8" belt
5) Went with an 18" x 5.5" wheel
6) 180 tire = Metzler ME 880, 180/55/18
7) Changed tailight to HD Tribar LED
8) Wider backrest, HD

Yesterday I got a flat and decided to find out myself. I had a Deuce wheel I had picked up. Like fixxr say's it's a bear to get on. Being a solid wheel you have nothing to hold on to. I took off the caliper hose and 4 rotor bolts and was able to squeeze it in. Since the clouds opened up, I'm going to ride it this weekend. If I decide to stay with this setup, I'll get the wheel powder coated black. I'll have to tape it up to protect it from stratches when installing. I dont know the recommended brake fluid change interval off hand, maybe it will be the same has tire rplacement time.

Well it dried up enough for a quick 50 mile ride. A Metzeler 880 MT90/16 that was on the bike originally. I had picked up the Deuce wheel with a Dunlop K591 170/60-17 at a swap meet. With the 170 tire I gained about 1 1/4" in width over the 130. There's no clearence issues, except the caliper being a tight fit. The bike rode rougher, probaly because the difference in tire profie (aspect ratio). I didn't want to push it to hard due to tread cupping and the unknown history of the tire. I compared it to a 150/80-16 and it's still a inch wider. Funny thing is. I have 170/60-17 Metzeler 880 and Dunlop 408 in my garage and the K591 is about a 1/4" wider then the 880 and the 408 is wider by about 3/8'. So right now it's inconclusive. I know one thing is that I don't like the solid wheel. Maybe if I powder coat it black?
