I still don't get why the Softails are so much more money.

 

I have never owned a softail, just Dynas & Baggers but I prefer the non-counterbalanced engine. JMO.

 

Can't go wrong with either one, but I prefer the looks of the softail. I've had mine well into the triple digits with no vibrations or steering wobble.

 

I love my street bob. It's more my style.

 

Love my heritage, I actually preffered the suspension on softails compared to dynas. The only way to really tell is to get some seat time and decide for yourself what fits better. When I was looking around for my last bike I figured it would be a given that I picked up an older style wide glide. After getting to ride a few different bikes I was turned off from the wide glide and ended up with the heritage. Also if you asked this same question in the softail forum the answers would probably be alot different than the ones you got here. Not hatin but guys tend to be just a little biased towards their bikes.

 

LOVE MY WG. when I ride my sons night train I can't seem to go around corners even close to what the dyna can. have been looking at a fat bob but I am keeping my WG.

 

Look at the Street Bob vs the Softail Slim. Both nice scooters, but I can't justify the price difference? Street Bob all the way!

 

The Fat Bob was the only HD I had even considered purchasing. Initially it was the dual headlights, dual rotor front brake, and the slammed looking rear end. To me, the best looking Dyna by far... I liked the nostalgic look of the softails but didn't want to spend that extra cash. They also appear to be bulky and sluggish. Now I want a Road King really bad!!!

 

Never have been able to get past the fake hardtail.

 

I initially wanted a Fat Boy until I rode a '12 103 Fat Boy and a '11 96 Fat Bob. I did a mix of riding on both on the same route. The sales person rode with me. We did some cruising, curves, and rough roads. While the bottom end on the 103 had a little noticeable improvement over the Fat Bob the Fat Boy was a stiffer ride on the rough roads and gave up big time on the curves. The low speed cruising and seating for my 5'6" frame was really nice on the Fat Boy but the overall ride was better on the Fat Bob so I ended up with a '12 103 Fat Bob with a reduced reach set up which I installed foot boards on. Now I have the best of both worlds.
I have continued doing the mix of riding.
