Default V&H big shots- black vs chrome?

Doing some research. Any owner inputs on black vs chrome exhaust? I'm thinking the black might be a lot easier to keep clean. Does the chrome waterspot, etc?

I have got the chrome on mine and I don't have a water spotting problem. Of course I dry them with a clean soft cotton towel soon after the water rising is done.

I, also have the Big Shots - chrome. No spotting here, just a simple wipe-down with a cloth dampened with windex from time to time.

However, If Vance & Hines had offered the black when I bought these, I'd have bought them! I'm not a big fan of a lot of chrome. All those out there that are "dripping with chrome" look cool, it's just not for me.

Just my $0.02

Best wishes....Tim(HT)

I just put the chrome shorts on my bike, I love them. No water spots as long as you dry them off and get a nice wax!

Depends on the bike if you ask me. If you have a blacked out bike with chrome pipes the pipes dominate your attention when you look at it and it looks ugly. same with black pipes on a chromed out bike, looks out of place. If you have a lot of black, blacked out engine dark color paint then get black pipes, that will make little things like chrome air cleaner and such stand out and look really sharp. Just my opinion. .. also if you scratch chrome you're pretty much stuck with it. If you scratch black you can touch it up later. Something to think about

Every bit of chrome on my bike (including the exhaust) spots like hell after a rain. Little Windex and a lint-free towel work wonders in between waxes.

I run the V & H Big shots on my black 07 Street Bob. Bought them chrome and had the heat shields powder coated black and left the tips chrome. Nice contrast to me.

Vivid Black or Denim? Vivid, go chrome. Denim, go black. Chrome isn't that hard to keep clean and shiny.
