Default 2012 Dyna Street Bob rear tire

I have a 2012 Dyna Street Bob what is the widest tire I can run on the stock rear rim. It came with a 170 stock I'm wanting to go to a 200 if possible without buying new rims.

I believe you go to a 180 on a stock rim

I believe the stock tire is 160, not 170. I went to a metzeler 170 and its wider than stock.

180 is going to be the widest you can go.. harley makes a 180 kit for the 12 street bob. they had a kit on the new 13's at the dealer. It looked great, but barely fit back there. Unless you mod the rear fender, I think 170 is about as wide as you want to go..

Cheers-

You have to change rims for a 200 rear. You want a 5.5 wide rim. It'll fit under the fender, just, but it fits. The HD 180 kit is just a 180 SE tire that has a narrow bead, plus a few bits you don't really need.

180 is the widest you can go with the stock rim. Only 3 tire makers make the right size. The Dunlap that comes with the wide tire kit (don't waste your money), the Michelin Scorcher that is stock on the Wide Glide, and the Pirelli Night Dragon. Form what I hear the Pirelli is not as wide as the Michelin.

I did get the fender brackets and button head bolts from the wide tire kit ti keep the rear turn signal wires off the tire but some you don't need em. Cheap insurance for me.

This is the Scorcher 180:

so with that 180, do you just simply swap out the tire, or are there other mods than need to be done to make it work?

Just put on a new tire and make sure your rear turn signal wires are tucked good or get the other brackets.

200 under stock fender is where it's at! Fills the entire fender up and is widest you are going with stock swingarm.
