floor boards for under $100
i keep seeing all these floorboard deals on the forum here lately and the prices are pretty high... i wanted to share how i did mine... i am 5'9 and completely comfortable with these... all you really have to buy is the "shaker" boards and an extended shift peg...
i hate how the shaker boards float the top board over the main mount... so i tore that off and put the pad on the main board after i powdered them... these suckers are SO SO comfortable i will not be changing them... they are low enough where i am still stretched out but close enough to be comfortable. so here is what i did...
(sorry the bike is dirty... i got all new toolboxes for the house and the bike has been under a cover while i am putting all the tools up)
*parts needed*
i got the boards used (i was going to powder them anyway) for $50 shipped
ext shift peg: $15
heel shift: Free from buddy with street glide
shifter arm: (to be cut for peg to weld on heel shift) i had laying around as well
freshly powder coated floor boards
the pads glued back on (goop household glue works great)
here is how i mounted them on the bike (everything comes with the kit)
*i was able to brighten it up with some editing software so you can see it a bit better*
Brake side
and shifter side
heel toe shifter

the heel shift is basically level with the back of the board... the front shift is about an 1/2 in above my boot... if that... just the angle of the pics i would guess, i keep the boards on a pretty good angle as well they are not flat across i found that incredibly uncomfortable with my boot heel, kicked my foot up at a weird angle... so i adjusted them a bit down and now it is perfect

Looks great! Joe, what is the story behind that brake pedal? Did you just powder a set of knucks, or is it fab'ed as a pedal? I have a set that I drilled and tapped mounted to my stock HD pedal, but it doesn't look nearly as clean as that set up.
