RE: How Many years of Riding?
sorry for de f**k up on the image. think this it.
for me 20years,
got my first bike for free....a '69 Honda 90. A neighbour had bought it new, drove over another neighbours kid, and then threw the bike in his back garden for 17 years. It was fairly rotted but for me it was a schoolboys dream come true. well, without the *****. a lotta cleaning, and a tin of red paint and it got me to school for the next few yrs.
then lots of honda 125's, 400 and 750/4's, some other big japs, z1000 -lotta fun, and then brit twins, after that i was converted!..including a bsa a65 which i rebuilt a few yrs ago, still have it and have the 90, and am rebuilding a '40 bsa m20 now.

I remember when you could still buy the beezers on the showroom floor.
I had forgotten about those tanks with the chrome sides.
Bought my first new machine in 67, a Triumph 650, I think the BSAs were around a hundred bux higher.
If I remember correctly the trumpet was about 12-13 hundred.
Your beezer below looks to be around that same era, maybe 69-70??
Seems they went out of production around the time the foot controls were standardized,
moving the shifter over to the other side.
I'd like ta see a picture of the 1940 you're workin over.

That Triumph is one beautiful bike..........
That Triumph is one beautiful bike..........
That red and black was really nice.
I think it was around 2500 out the door in 77. 5-6 hundred less than the HDs.
These pix really don't do justice.

Hey Mud....
I don't have a lot of old photos from the start out days, but here is one of my Eagle when it was new. I am at the handlebar end and my younger brother is to the left wearing his 50 Missions Cap. Time was 1957.
I will post another one that I found of my buddy in 1957 with his interesting set of wheels. I bet you have never seen one like this before. We called it the 'Wistang'.
