I have rode in the rain quite a few times (without rain sock) and never experienced any issues. I have heard that some people have, I guess its just up to your individual bike. Thankfully mine doesnt seem to mind.

I've had the bike seem to sputter. Probably not a big deal under most circumstances. You are gonna want to re-oil the filter after riding in the rain.

Apples and Pears, but I'm running a Kury scoop on mine. The other day I was in a terrible storm, and the bike ran fine, but wouldn't accelerate. After a couple of minutes when the rain had stopped, she picked up no sweat. Probably cleaned out the heads a little bit too.

I always have my rain shock on riding in the rain, it does cough a few times depends on how heavy the rain is. BTW what is that hose beside the air cleaner?

Not sure if they make one for spike, give it a try!

that is the breather tube. didnt just want to run a hose to the rear of the frame and let it puke on the rear tire. this winter im going to drill a hole in the elbow and mount it properly. air filter was dirty and i wanted to change it. the mounting bracket did not have a breather hole in it. had to modify the bracket and put the chrome breather kit on it. on a side note anyone know what the dead ended wire connector that was pushpinned into the rear of the air cleaner housing is for? u can see it hanging in the first pic i resecured it but have no idea what its for since it is just plugged. i checked my friends 2006 wideglide and his has the same thing. just wondering

The IAT sensor doesn't like to get moisture on it oil or water. The sock may help some but running a filter that's not shielded from direct contact with rain is going to get wet.

Been in some pretty heavy rain. I use a roland sands rain sock and have never had any issues. Would not feel good about not using one

I 've been caught a few times in the rain and forgot to put mine on and didn't seem to have any problems. Had the bike out in the rain without it on while in the store too. Now I just leave it on mostly.
