detachable saddlebag brackets???
I had a thought the other night. I have a set of throw over saddlebags that I had on my first bike, the only two problem is that they are 15 inches long so i'd have to relocate my turn signals, and I don't want the bags to get caught in the wheels, and I don't want to leave any brackets on the bike.
So this is what I was thinking...... I already have a detachable sissy bar set up, A new set of detachable side mounts are only 25 bucks. Although a little bending of them may be required if i used them on the opposite sides and upside down I would have a detachable saddle bag bracket. Then I could bolt the bag to the two holes where they would mount to the backrest instead. No big deal if the chrome cracks, I would just clean'em up and paint them black....they'd be behind the bag anyway, and come off when the bags arn't on. Obviously I couldn't use the sissy bar at the same time as the bags. I don't think I would use them a lot but i do like saddle bags better than the sissybar, t-bag look if i just want to carry a couple of things. Think that will work?

RE: detachable saddlebag brackets???
great idea! take a $20k bike, put on $25 dollar brackets, which are spray painted because of chrome cracking, and hang them upside down. Why doesent everyone do that? Ya know, I knew a guy once who had this chrome stripping to use on a gas tank....
