Default Valve train noise

how much is normal? I ask, because a few days ago i repacked my V&H quiet baffles--problem is i purchased some fiberglass wrap from a local bike shop--it was too thick, so i pulled it apart in half, like 2 layers. However, once installed, i was getting some not nice top end noise. Quickly took them out and was able to pull another layer off the fiberglass wrap, re-installed , and it seems to be ok, But now my attention is heightened into that valve train noise -- i can hear some, but is it normal? I can tell you it is quieter than my wife's stock sporty.

i called V&H the other day, and have some replacement fiberglass wraps in the mail--i guess i can put those in and see what the top end noise sounds like

Not sure if this helps but I went back to dino oil after a couple years of sync oil because I didn't like the valve train noise. Soon as I switched back the noise quieted right down.

I have noise as well got noticeably louder after the new cams but has started to quiet down with some miles. The noise was probably there before you just couldn't hear it

I run synthetic but I think I hear the valvetrain more when windshield is on. Seems to direct the noise up under it. But have had to shop and said it's normal.
