For smaller orders, not really - larger and big ticket items absolutely. Just the way it is. Alot of my decision making about where to buy has to do with the current parts staff - if they happen to have idiots on staff then I will probably buy online, if they are nice and competent then I will buy in store unless I'm feeling really cheap.........relationship building is worth something.

Absolutely for me! We pay average 15-20% more in Canada, when I order online, sale tax exemption, $200 free shipping, it took me 18 mins to cross the US border, why not? Not just HD oem parts, I buy everything from states now, can't beat the price and fast shipping.

+1 I'm in the same boat in Canada it cost a leg and arm at the local dealer so online is the best way to go for us and never had any issue make sure you get a good seller that’s it.

If I go to my Dealer for the same stuff... they get that hundred bucks and I pay tax... it's a no Brainer. But as stated, really only saves you on larger ticket items. a 75 buck item with 20% off and 12 dollar shipping would only save you 3 bucks... in that case I'll go local.

I agree with JonV I only do it on bigger stuff but all the small stuff I get local plus my maintenance so I do support my local.

I also agree with the large item purchases. For smaller stuff that will only be a difference of a few dollars, I go to my dealer. And plus, I see money back from my dealer by being in their rewards program. I see $25 back every $250 I spend, and that's not hard to do with HD parts.

Ask yourself one question, what has your local dealer done for you lately? NOTHING!
Saving is good!

Another example.... HD Dealer wants 237.00 for a rear tire and an hour labor to install....

Local Bike shop wants 247.00 total for a Night Dragon, installed.

Which would you choose?
