Default What are your thoughts on exhaust wrap?

I'm looking to wrap my exhaust, and I can go either way, wrapped or not. I was just wondering how you guys thing it would look on my particular setup. Image is here: https://i.imgur.com/fbp69.jpg

Gay and overdone. It wrecks the pipes

I could see wrapping pipes that may be old & discolored (or rashed) but not on nice shiny ones

I may be way off on this, but isn't exhaust wrap supposed to be for pipes that DON'T have heat shields on them? Either way, I'm not a fan of how it looks. To me, it looks cheap and takes away from any clean looks a bike has. Wrap should be reserved for the rat rod looking bikes. The minimalistic ones, not a nice shiny new bike.

From everything I have read it weakens the metal over time and should only be used for race applications,

Like i said this is what i have read (on some pretty reputable sites about exhausts) this is why I never did it in the end,

yes the general info seems to be its hard on the pipes in the long run... It also does NOTHING to protect your boot, leg and pants from the exhaust heat. Wrapped pipes will burn pants and melt boots just as fast as raw headers.

Its an OK look on some bikes... but yours is beautiful ride! wouldnt change a thing

I think your bike would look better as it is. But if you did, go with black wrap i suppose.

There is always two opinions on wrap- love it or hate it. The only opinion that matters is your own - do what your gut tells you to do - and stuff what other people think about your ride and your choices. If we all did what others thought was acceptable there wouldn't be any custom bikes!!!

My individual bob - very much loved and hated wherever it goes but it is my bike, my style and makes me happy.

So FTW and do what you want
