I decided to change out the rear fender and tail light on my SB from the stock to a 06 fender. After I got it all back on when I plugged in the new tail light in I only get a brake light, no running light on it. It comes on fine when brakes applied but nothing when released. I did have to change the plug that came from the bike(SB are diff for some reason), but I followed the book on what terminals went where.

any help would be apprishiated

 

what type of tail light are you running?

 

for now Im just rocking a stock tail light from 06 style fender

 

double check the light bulb

 

Do the older style brake lights act as a run/brake or just a brake?

 

changed bulb, same thing.

 

get a rear harness from a 06 model and all your lights will be plug and play, I did this when i swapped fenders they are 35.00 or so , If you decide to just do the wiring,orange and white is run,orange and red is brake,black is ground

 

any 06 model or 06 SB? I know its prob a stupid question, but rather be sure if you know what I mean.

 

Yes they run as a taillight and brake light.
