Tire Choice

I only have 3k on mine, but I love them.
The stock Dunlops scared the crap out of me too many times.
The Night Dragons stick to the road, allow me to corner confidently without the worry of running out of tire.
For 3k, they show little wear and I am hard on tires.
I am running a 180 on the back and stock on the front.
Keep in mind, Pirelli made them to fit Harley rims and they are the only true matching front/rear bias tires other than the stock Dunlops. Almost every other brand of tire you have to mix a radial rear with bias front.
Search this forum for Night Dragons, there are a lot of threads on them.

Thanks, Actually I'm planning on buying a full Set... my OEM Dunlop measured less than 2/32 tread depth after 6300 miles, and I don't consider myself an aggressive rider.. shitty roads in RVA may have contributed. Oddly the Pirelli Website does not list an 09 FXD Fitment. I guess a bit of Surfing is in order to shop the market price.

The next change will be just the rear, the front should last twice as long. I like to have matching tires front and rear.
That Night dragons and the Avons are a softer compound for better grip. Your riding style will depict longevity.
Just match up the size of your existing tires with the new ones. The Pirelli's will match nicely with the rim width. I upped my rear tire from a 160 to a 180 because I wanted a wider tire.
As for point of purchase, I could help you out north of the border, but down there you have unlimited places to order them from.

The Michelin Commander II also measures narrower as well. It handles very good and is supposed to wear longer than the others. I would say it, the night dragon and Avons would be your choice for a tire that handles.
