Nobody told me that, i went to the dealer 2 years ago looking for a Sportser, after I rode a couple the salesman put me on several Dyna models - I forget which one I rode first but I don't think I made it 10 feet from the curb before I didn't want that Sportster any more.

I absolutley love my WG, cant imagine anything better! The only complaint that I have, and this is with HD in general, it seems like you can never do just one thing for an upgrade, you always have two to three things you have to do to actually get the one upgrade you want.

I come here alot, mostly reading posts (most times without logging in) and hardly ever posting. With that being said I feel compelled to add to this thread. I previously owned an '07 Sportster Custom and thought it was the best bike I've ever had. I've owned and ridden 8 bikes in the past 43 years of riding. I traded the Sporty in on my '12 Wide Glide, now with about 800 miles and haven't looked back. The Wide Glide is like the Sporty but it isn't. A basic bike with kickass styling. A hundred pounds heavier with a Big Twin, twice the displacement and a 6 speed transmission. I loved that Sporty and still miss it. Could I go back to it... no. Perhaps if I had to, I guess. The Wide Glide is just, well, so much more and it's hard to explain or discribe. Time will tell but so far I'm love'n it more than anything I've had previously. To the OP, ride one and you'll be sold.... Best Regards

a wide glide is no grown up sporty. it is much heavier and longer. it will not handle as good either. but i think anyone would be happy riding one. only thing i don't like is that skinny 21" front tire.

Never been on a Wide Glide..but love the styling. You get on a big twin I think you'll leave the Sportster behind...that's just from experience.

05 WG, cant think if a single thing that would keep me from buying another. they corner like there on tracks . if they outrun my 88" on the straight away , I catch them in the corners. never had a 21" slide out from under me, people are running 26"-30" now

Exactly what I thought, to each their own.

I think you said it is an '05. Of course the wide glide of that era is a very different bike than the wide glide of about 2009 and newer.

Obviously I love my dyna. Riding a sportster will be like riding a toy after you get used to a dyna.
