Default FXDX- Tall riser question

I just bought 9.5" straight risers for my 2001 FXDX. I am running Khromewerks XLX bars.

Can I run the stock tachometer and speedometer cables with risers this tall?

Is the wiring/ brake line going to be long enough with this bar set up plus risers?

I've had a couple conflicting answers....

Search for Shiftace. He has posted helpful info on this multiple times.

I can not say definitively what will or will not work on yours, however I can tell you what did and did not work on mine.
I'm running 9.5" with a slight pull-back wild ones risers with a drag bar. Speedo / tach mounted on bar mount, no problem. Only line extended was the brake line.

Thanks for the input, fellas. The total rise is gonna be ~15" at bar tips. I figured I would be good, but have never had to deal with gauges mounted up like this.

I'll be sure to get what I need to extend the brake line before I start the tear down.

You should be okay with 10" risers with stock cables. I put 13" bars on my fxdxt and needed a longer brake line.

I just got 8" risers and the same bars in. Installing them this weekend, hoping that I won't have to change a thing. Will let you know though.

15in from the tree is gonna be tough. Brake line for sure will need lengthened. Perhaps the clutch and throttle too. Thats pretty tall about 1.5 taller than my setup. Mines 13.5 from the tree (9.5 straight risers, sportster bars) I added 4in to my brake line and rerouted everything else. There's enough slack in the factory harness to reach. You'll have to cut a zip tie or two and wiggle and tug where the harness drops into the frame by the tank. My throttle cable is maxed out, any taller and I'll need to swap it. Same with my clutch, both are stock length for the bike.

Planning on 12" T-bars. Thought I was going to need to extend.... Appears maybe not.
Thanks for the info! I'm gonna try to see if what I got will work before I drop $200 on extensions.

Thanks!

When I got my brake line, throttle and idle cables, and clutch cable I went with +4" on the throttle and idle (they could be 2" shorter easy) got a stock aftermarket braided set of liens for the brakes and bent the metal straight down by the tee on the lower triple tree, and +4" on the clutch cable. The clutch cable could easily be 2" shorter as well. This is for my 13" LA Choppers club bars.

So if I run stock bars with 4" risers I should be good? Where did you guys get your brake lines? All you guys with t-bars and the like....what did you do with your gauges? I'd like to do 4" risers with 1" pull back and keep my stock bars. Anyone else do risers with pull back? I've read the angle change on gauges makes them hard to read? This is my next project. Just need to decide which route to go.
