21" front wheel on Superglide.....
Hi,
Anybody know if a wideglide front wheel (21") will fit on a superglide? If so, will the stock rotor fit up, etc.? If not, which wheels will?
I wouldn't mind going up to a 21" front laced wheel, but it's gotta be Harley, becasue It has to match my rear wheel.
Thanks,
joe

This is another one of those things that can happen if'n you want it to. If the hubs are the same, it will be a fairly easy swap, as the axle spacers on your bike will work. You'll have to check to see if the rotor is mounted the same as on your wheel, or if it is spaced out. Basically, it's a matter of getting the 21, doing whatever is needed to center it in your forks, mounting the rotor so it meets your caliper, checking the endplay, and hittin' the road.
You might need to fabricate or buy spacers to center the wheel, and probably remove a spacer to allow the rotor to line up properly. All this depends on the hub of the WG wheel. If the hub itself is too wide, then it will take more work, as in lacing the 21 rim to your hub. Something else is whether the fender will fit. 21 inchers look good w/o a front fender, and out of place with a fender. That's MNSHO, of course. And everyone knows "REAL muttersickles" don't have front fenders!

hey skip wouldn't a sporty wheel bolt right on since they are both narrow glide front ends?

All these new-fangled bikes and combos are getting to be too much for an ol' geezer! [8D]
