Why Do Parts Ordered From My Dealer Take Forever
Every time my dealer orders a part for me that's not in stock it literally takes a couple weeks to get to the store from HD. Do dealerships order things at the slowest pace to save money? Could I pay more to get express shipping? Didn't know if anybody had any inside scoop to their ordering process.

For some reason it always takes a while. For instance, ordered new rocker box covers as well as a security system today from my dealer. He said HD has both parts in stock and they should arrive the week of the 13th. You think they would be here sometime next week. I told him I could order from Surdyke and probably get them here sometime next week and for less money. The only reason I still bought from the dealer was I had a gift card that I wanted to use towards the purchase.

From buying parts from the local dealers I've noticed that they all seem to have specific days of the week for deliveries. For example, Hal's receives deliveries on Monday, House of Harley usually on tuesday. So, it might just have to do with timing when they order the parts for you. If you go in and order your parts the same day they get deliveries you have at least 7 days to wait.
Probably also depends if the Moco warehouse has the parts to send to the dealer.
They seem to usually ship on thursday or friday. If they ship on thursday I get it by friday
