Maybe you could get by just doing the outer spacer and bolts, but not the smaller spacer that gets clamped by the saddlebag. I would think that part would get chipped quickly.

Just wanted to drop in and give Garry some props from Canada. I ordered 2 sets of bags from him and they shipped very quickly. You really have to see thes bags in person to truly appreciate the craftsmanship. Once mounted to the bike, they're solid as hell...my friends were blown away!

Again, great work!

Garry,

Could you make a set of these bags using the same material as T-Bags uses? Back when I was shopping for a tailbag, I noticed most black bags were a fine mesh and slightly grayish, noticeably lighter than the other black on the bike. T-Bags uses a dark black material with a coarse-looking mesh that blends really well with Harley's wrinkle black finish - the material looks like it was made for Harley. I don't know what it is, but how difficult would it be to get it and make some of these bags with it?

I'll check into it, but I don't think the people who make T-Bags are going to be willing to give me their source for the material.

No...I ordered the bags for two of my friends. One rides a 2004 FXDX and one rides a 2013 FXDB. We haven't gotten them on the FXDX yet since it's still in the shop getting some work done but they look sick on the FXDB.

How much would a "safe" clearance off of the top of the pipe be? I have a set of the bags on order, but could "borrow" a set from a friend of mine off of his FXDX.

I have an '11 his is an '02...so his are lower mounting.

I mocked them up and have about an inch. Think that would be enough? Or dont take the chance and just wait the couple weeks?
