Garry, what's the temp rating on the abs shield on the bottom?
Ill post a pic in a minute

The quick release sissy bar is a tight fit but it works so the wife is happy lol
After scratching my head for several hours this morning, I have to say I owe all you guys with 06 and newer bikes an apology. Back when I was asking you guys for the distance from the top of your pipe to the center of the strut, the shortest distance reported was 12". I made the bags about 10 3/4" (which is shorter than the stock FXDXT bags) and thought that would be good. I think what happened is that I was thinking straight up and down on the mold, when I had actually had you measure at an angle from the pipe to the strut. Anyway, we definitely need at least 1/2". The bag on 07bobber's bike is too close to the pipe, because it will actually flex a little with weight in it, putting it right on the pipe. The good news is that I think I have a solution. If I mount the bag about 5/8" higher and a little forward (kinda like sliding it up the shock line) onto the bracket, it should take care of the problem. Again I apologize for my mistake and will make it right with all of you with newer bikes that I have already shipped the bags to. If the bag is too close to your pipe, get back to me and I will issue a call tag to have the bags picked up, and I will get you a new pair with more clearance, or refund your money if you wish.

Sorry again for my mistake.
Garry

Garry, would moving it up make the bag sit higher than the fender?

I don't think so. As I look at the pics of 07Bobber's bike, it looks like the bags sit about 3/4" below the fender, so the bags won't be higher, but will probably be real close to even. I will find out for sure on Monday.

Thanks for the info Garry, do you think the outlet end of the d and d is what's causing the touch, in comparison to a t header ( although they do have a bit of upsweep) the outlet is tapered and a bit smaller. Too bad we don't have pictures of them on a 06 up with different exhaust. Just a thought.

Your still gonna make them this way for us guys with older bikes right? They fit perfect on the older bikes, those are the bags I want.

Yes, the mold is set up just right for the older bikes, and I think what I am going to do is, now that I have a mold, pour another one and change the mounting holes for the bracket on the new mold.
