Nothing special, just another Wide Glide that looks like so many others that gets lost in the parking lot.

The first Harley I built was a 51 Pan in the form of a Wide Glide Model LONG before the factory offered anything in comparison. I put it together with mostly with Harley Davidson parts. Harley straight leg ridged frame. Shaved Hyda-Glide front end trees and lowers with the bottom tree turned flat side up, FXE Super Glide tank and gauges. One of the my later regrets was selling it. I wish I'd kept it but at this point it's mute because I couldn't ride a ridged frame now days
anyhow. If I still owned it I wouldn't mind because it would still be nice to look at it parked in the garage. I have a mostly stock 69 FLH flat side parked in the garage (I rarely ride) to fill the void the Pan has left.

Full circle to the present. I have a factory Wide Glide as my main ride right now. I've owned more bikes then I can count over the years. I like my baggers but hated all things Twin Cam. At my age and getting older I have settled on an EVO Wide Glide. I cannot adjust to the idea of calling an EVO a classic. When I had my pan I never thought I'd own a Shovelhead. So much for reminiscing. If I want to keep riding its time to move on in the present with an EVO. I need something mechanical I can understand that connects me to the ground..

Default Love it!

your Pan is beautiful . I am 56 yo. I remember seeing pans knuckles, shovels & flatys running around when I was a kid. always wanted a H D. had many different bikes, jap , Brit. 3 HDs . I am now the proud owner of a 1996 FXDWG. and, you are right, even 37 years on, it's hard to look apon the EVO as classic.

Default New Exhaust

Just installed my new Vance and Hines Super Radius Exhaust. Its not as loud as the Cobra Speedster Slashdowns i had before. But, the tone now is deep and sounds good. But, i miss the loudness of my other pipes.
