Default FXDF Fat Bob Custom Wheels?

I'm trying to swap out the wheels on my '08 fat bob. Not sure if I want mags or spokes...any opinions out there?

What I am sure of however, is that I don't want to pay $4500 for rims, brakes and pulley and I'd like to pick something up used.

Only problem is I don't know the dimensions I should be looking for? Can I fit touring or bagger rims on the bike?

I know I need a 25mm axle (which apparently I can swap bearings from other rims), but what about the width of the rim?

Also, I know I need something that accepts dual front disc.

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

First. use the search function on the tool bar and enter the words fat bob wheels

Harley Stinger wheels fit the fat bob. Standard FB wheels are 16, I think that the stingers are 18. Some have done spokes also. Aftermarkets can set up almost any kind of wheel that you want.

I found a set of new SE fang wheels and put on my 2008 FXDF. The bad part is with the dual brakes you rally can't see much of the wheels. Mike

Which is why 18 inch wheels work better on the fat bob. Anything smaller and it's sort of a waste because you can only see the rotors.

Call me crazy, but I like the look of the 16" wheels. It's one of the things I like about my Fat Bob. I've wrestled with what rims to put on for a couple of years. I think spoked wheels in 16" would look Great. Then again, I keep reading threads about how the spoked wheels are high maintenance, ie: keeping the spokes adjusted, cleaning, etc. Does anyone know if the Fat Spoke or King Spoke type wheels have the same types of issues as regular spokes? Anyway, don't want to hijack the thread but those are my thoughts...
