Default Springer front end opinion...

I have tossed around the idea of putting some Springer forks on my Wide Glide.

I am pretty confident that I am going to do it in the next two months (after my move).

I have narrowed it down to the American Suspension Black Dragons and the Paughco's. They will run close in price but I am liking the Black Dragons alot more as far as looks go.

What are your opinions?

Black Dragons

The paughco's...

Having owned a springer, I am glad I don't own it anymore. It you love the way it looks go for it. I own a dyna street bob now and it handles 100 times better. A springer has more Maintenece and is not as smooth. I always thought th Harley springer looked the best, but the paugo looks nice too. If you don't like it you can always switch back.

Thanks for the advice. I am expecting the ride to be a little more harsh and the turning radius may be affected.

I just love the way the Springer front end looks.

What additional maintenance is required?

Rode a springer for years. Consider the Paughco, it has a shock absorber for better control. They also have years of experiance over all the others. Try and keep your rake, length, and trail as close to stock as possible to maintain a good solid ride. In the wind.

I like a springer front end as long as it is tasteful and done right. Simple and functional is the way i would go. That dragon front end screams "weekend badass", look at me im on a harley. It reminds me of the guy that dresses in collared shirts and shorts with sandles his whole life but then wears a leather vest with a bandanna and fingerless gloves when he gets a harley.
