Default Getting ready for apes

So I have my choice for apes narrowed down to either the 12" or 14" burly narrow apes. I had a pair of 16" santee apes, but they were going to be too tall. Would the 14" be good? I have the sundowner seat on my fxdc, stock risers. I ride on base every day so I have to stay below my shoulders. The catalog says the 12" have a 4 1/2" center? That seems very small. Thoughts?

What apes do you have on yours? I'm assuming your bike is your avatar and thats the style that I'm leaning towards...

I guess 12" is what I will go with. My sundowner seat lifted me up about an inch and a half, maybe two inches.

My bars are 12'' as well, 4 1/2 center is the clamping area.

That's because they are narrow as hell. They fit a sportster front end (narrow glide) perfectly. I don't know what year your FXDC is but if you have a mid glide front end then it may look awkward.

I have a 2008 fxdc. Thinking with the width of my forks and the height of my seat I will in fact go with 14" apes....

I have 12 Outlawz and love them..fix great. I'm 5'10” handlebars are even with my shoulders super comfortable. I have 1.5” risers to keep things low.

How long of a wiring extension kit should I buy to run 12 or 14 inch bars? I am looking at the novello sets. Thanks!
