There are 3 manufacturers making tires specifically for the Wide Glide. Michelin, Pirelli and Dunlop. Can't remember which one, but one actually makes the 180 tire rated for the 4.5" wheel. I guess HD doesn't have an issue with "1-uping" the other two tires.

yes it fits well with a few alterations... primary side axle spacer will need to have .400 machined off... the back of the drive pulley where it mates to the wheel will need .250 machined off. and the struts need to be spread at the rear at least 1/2 of an inch... i went 5/8ths and still cant run signals beacuse I want to run the sissybar and that eats up about an 1/8th inch of clearance on each side...

this excellent thread is where I got most of the info I needed for the swap.. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ds-w-pics.html

i think the stock tyre on the back of my 2008 fxdc is too wide. not to mention it is expensive.

what i dont get is, the dyna is supposed to be harleys sporting big twin , but one ride on a 2010 heritage no less, convinced me the heritage handles much much better. or at least i feel that much more in control of it. i dont know off hand the tyre sizes on the heritage, but a quick eyebaling tells me they are a more traditional size, ie: skinnier on the back anyways. i would like to get a 16" mt-90, or whatever that is in todays tyre parlance, for the back of my dyna.

typically, by the time harley picked up on the fat rear tyre trend, it was already passe with much of the chopper types on the street. bigger tyres are more resistant to lean, plus all that extra unsprung weight hurts acceleration. i should have stuck with the pre-fatazzed fatboys.
