05 Wide Glide Tank Lift
Put the new seat on yesterday, and got a tank lift kit from Chopper Style today, and installed it without too much trouble. Here's a before and after:

RE: 05 Wide Glide Tank Lift
Just a couple minor problems- really could have used a "cable stretcher" to pull some slack in the wiring. They sent a couple pieces of different size hose, but none of them was the same size as the vent hose I had to replace. Took a quick trip to the parts store for that one. Would have been a lot easier without a full tank of gas, too. I didn't have to replace the crossover hose, it was just long enough. But all in all, well worth the time and effort. I think this is the cheapest mod I've done to this bike, and it also gave the most bang for the buck. Can see those rocker covers now (and now I can clean them too). Also, I had those bars put on a couple weeks ago. The only problem I had with the way they looked was from the front. Seemed like too much space between the top of the tank and the bar. I was looking for something that would have hugged closer to the tank. I was almost going to get different ones, but the tank lift solved that problem too. They look just they way I want now.

Glad to hear those were the only problems, they sound like pretty basic fixes.
Just a couple of hint for the next person, the breather hose should have been 5/32" vaccum hose, it's tight, but if you were to soak it in steaming hot water for about 2 minutes it'll slip right on. The wiring is usually strapped further down the frame with a zip tie and if you were to cut that you may have had plenty of wire. That gas does some bad things when it gets in the wrong places (eyes), best to have an empty tank before starting.

I was at the parts depot earlier this evening trying to match up this hose.
Couldn't find a suitable piece.
Here's my lift, don't think I've seen one similar (2", even with lowerbackbone of frame):

Thanks Mark, I shot Mud an email to let him know of the change.
As far as the wiring... Why would they sell a 3" kit and not let people know they need a wiring extension? I've heard of people pulling wire out from under the tank on the Street Bobs but I guess that's a whole different animal.
