2005 FXDX 13 spoke mag wheels on an 2007 FXDB
I got the wheels back from powder now I'm just waiting on the second rotor and the brake line.
Gonna get the tires installed Tuesday and once they are ready ill get the fork leg installed.
....10/23/12....
okay ive got the front and rear metzelers, master cylinder, axle spacers, wheel sleeves, bearings, caliper and two black rotors.
the wheels have been coated but the powder guy wants to shoot another coat becuase he wants the rough cast area to look good so they should be in my hands tomorrow evening and hopefully the tires will be mounted by thursday.
i still need the brake line and not sure if i want the goodrich brake lines which are pricey or go the cheap route using a bagger brake line since i can hide the excess line behind my fairing.
heres the rear tire....all the other parts are being delivered by the brown truck over the next few days...once i have everything in order ill start a new thread..
....09/26/12...
got some parts in the mail, 11/16 master cylinder, bearings, rear axle sleeve, rotor
im currently bidding on a set of calipers and I still have to buy another rotor, brake pads, brake lines and fxdf lowers.
hoping the wheels will be done with powdercoat by the weekend of the 6th....
....09/21/12....
well the rear wheel is done being drilled, itll be another 2 weeks til they are powdercoated.
ive got the front metzeler tire, rear 160/80/16 should be here on the 28th, bearings are in the mail gotta run down to harley and pick up the wheel sleeve and the wheel spacers should be done in a few days.
ive got an 11/16 master cylinder and a classic black floating rotor coming in the mail and im bidding on a set of calipers so i can do the dual disk brakes up front..
if anyone has a right caliper PM me with a price...
also looking for the dual brake line & lowers from a fat bob...
....09/04/12 update....
okay fellas heres an update. I ended up selling the silver wheels a few months ago to pay some bills while i was off work but now im back to work and got another set of wheels. The rear (pictured below) is from a member here and the front was purchased off of Ebay (not shown but looks like the rear).
I removed the bearings and realized i had to get the rear drilled out to fit 1" bearings and axle sleeve.
So both wheels are out for the rear to be drilled and to be powdercoated gloss black and should be done in a week or two...(not in a big hurry).
I have a front 100/90-19 metzeler me880 on the way and will be ordering the rear 160/80-16 metzeler me880 hopefully next weekend
once the wheels, bearings and tires are together ill do a mock up and make some spacers for the front.
from what ive heard and read here the rear bolts up...
but this past weekend some of my buddies tried to install a rear 13 spoke from a 2010 or newer sportster 883 iron onto an 06 fxdb but the rear wheel did not fit with the stock spacers.
Im guessing the newer sporty wheels either changed dimensionally somewhere or the 06 is different from my 07.....my bet is the wheel is different....ill find out for sure when i mock up my wheels..
Gonna get the tires installed Tuesday and once they are ready ill get the fork leg installed.

I don't have the extra cash for this mod at the moment either so this will probably take me awhile to gather parts and finish everything
